No, Lemmikmees saunas come as complete sets and are ready for immediate use. Simply position the included heater and chimney (see the installation guide provided with the product), add the stones (not included, available in our product range), and start enjoying the steam. No special tools or skills are required for sauna installation, making it especially convenient for the user. Installing the heater and chimney may take up to 2 hours.
Lemmikmees saunas are suitable for almost any ground surface, but we recommend ensuring that the foundation is stable and firm. In most cases, an existing garden or yard at a summer home or house will suffice without the need for additional groundwork.
Lemmikmees saunas do not require a building permit. However, in certain cases, you may need to notify the city or municipal government about the installation. It’s best to confirm this with your local authorities. If the sauna is to be installed on softer ground, prepare a base for the sauna legs according to the design (provided after the order is placed). If needed, consult a Lemmikmees sauna specialist regarding the specific location and installation process.
To date, none of our saunas have reached the end of their lifespan. We confidently promise 10–20 years or more. After that, you might consider a new Lemmikmees sauna. To extend durability, we recommend treating the sauna annually with weather-resistant wood protection products.
Since wood is a natural material, minor leakage is a normal phenomenon. After the first heating and filling with water, the hot tub becomes watertight as the wood swells and seals. It takes some time for the wood to absorb water and expand.
Follow this strict sequence of steps when using the hot tub:
- Ensure the required water level (marked as a line on the stove) is reached, and the tub is swollen (no leaks) before starting the fire.
- Only light the stove after completing the first step.
- Depending on the season, it may take 2–4 hours to heat the water to 35–36°C. Cover the tub with a lid during heating and stir the water occasionally.
After emptying the hot tub, you can brush it or use a pressure washer. The use of chemicals is not recommended.
Keep in mind that to prevent mold, the hot tub lid should be left off when the tub is not in use. Proper ventilation ensures long-lasting durability.
